eek! 2 weeks until Prom!

Hair and makeup is just as stressful as finding a dress and I feel like we usually leave this to the last minute, I know I did at my sister's wedding!

My dress is a full length, sweetheart strapless with a jeweled bodice. It definitely stands out. When you have a dress like this, you don't want to over do it with make up. Keep the focus on one area. I've seen girls wear shorter dresses and make it look more prom-like by having dramatic eyes or bright lips. Very pretty.

But because my dress is pretty dramatic already on the top half, I'd go for a simple look for my face. A subtle smokey eye with defined eyebrows, big lashes and pretty pink lips will do!

For the base, I'd usually start off with a primer. I use POREfessional Pro balm by Benefit. I love this primer, it's so silky smooth! How cute is my mini version?!
I then take my foundation from benefit, Big Easy. This foundation is super easy to use, but for me I find that products with SPF protection seem to slip and slide or it can look a little too shiny for pictures and make me look oily even when I'm not.
If needed, use a little concealer to hide any imperfections and nasties.
Illuminate! I love my Beat the Blues illuminator by MeMeMe (review here) Be careful not to go over the top with this step as you want a healthy glow and avoid looking like a metal robot
Finish the base off with a light brush of powder. I have the translucent clear complexion powder by Rimmel London. It's been one of my staple make up for 2 years and I swear by it!

I normally do my eyebrows next. For this look, I use MACs eyebrows in the shade Lingering. I think this is super pigmented which makes it a little harder to use than my usual Maquillage but it gives a much stronger and defined brow, although it really does run out very quickly because the product itself is uber soft.
For my eyes, I hardly wear eyeshadows but when I do I use MAC eye shadows. I created my own little palette of my usual smokey eye look. I have a set of 4 very similar shades. I was blinded by the shopaholic inside me! I can only remember two of the shades and that os Brule and Brown Down
Recently I've been wearing a simple little cat eye in my everyday look to give my eyes a little more oomph. My absolute favourite is Soap and Glory Supercat. The felt tip end makes it super easy to make cat eyes.
A stroke of mascara and a little help of false lashes, my eyes are done.

A little blush, and bronzer transforms the look and I'm almost done. I use MAC blush in fleur power and Rimmel London Natural Bronzer.

Finish the look with your favourite balm and lippy. To make your lippy last a little longer, use a liner of the similar or lighter colour to lie and fill in your lips before applying any other lippy. I hardly ever wear lip gloss because of the stickiness and my hair always gets caught but I adore the stila shades. Very pretty! Here, I have a Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Asia, Lip liner from MAC in Hip 'n' Happy, and a Matte lip cream by Sleek in Birthday Suit.

I hope this helped all of you prom go-ers! Have fun!
